INTEGRATOR OF NEW AND USED ROBOTS FOR INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION

How much do industrial robots cost?

Used industrial robots cost 40-50% less than their new counterparts.Every year, RobotWorx receives many robot pricing requests from students and researchers. While specific prices depend on a number of factors, we are able to offer answers to the most common robot pricing questions:

  • How Much Do New Robots Cost?
New robot arms, complete with controllers and teach pendants, typically cost from $50,000 to $80,000. Once application-specific peripherals are added, the system costs anywhere from $100,000 to $150,000.

  • How Much Do Used Robots Cost?
Reconditioned robots are a less expensive option. Used robots typically cost half as much as new robots. Used robot arms cost between $25,000 and  $40,000, and systems with application components cost between $50,000 and $75,000.

  • Does Robot Price Depend on Manufacturer?
Surprisingly enough, there is very little price variation amongst industrial robot manufacturers. Similarly sized robots offer similar functionality and repeatability and cost roughly the same amount.

  • What is the Greatest Price Determining Factor?
The final price of a robot arm or robot system is directly related to the application being performed. To choose the right robot model the company has to consider workspace requirements, reach and payload limits, as well as product specifics. Application determines EOAT, peripherals, safety components, etc., all of which impact the total cost considerably.
