Robotic Automation: Flux Cored Welding

Flux Cored Arc WeldingFlux cored welding is a semi-automatic welding process. Self shielding flux cored arc welding wires or gas shielded welding wires may be used. Flux cored arc welding (FCAW) is a commonly used high deposition rate welding process that adds the benefits of flux to the welding simplicity of MIG welding. In MIG welding, wire is continuously fed from a spool.

About Flux Cored Welding:

  • Flux cored welding is generally more forgiving than MIG welding.
  • A reduction in pre-cleaning compared to a MIG welding application.
  • The condition of the base metal can affect weld quality.
  • Excessive contamination must be eliminated.
  • Flux cored welding produces a flux that must be removed.

RobotWorx creates affordable flux cored arc welding systems. We build advanced flux cored arc welding (FCAW) robot systems and provide excellent service. The consistent quality welds, and higher deposit rates bring a higher return on investment (ROI) to companies.

RobotWorx sells new and reconditioned flux cored arc welding robots from manufacturers such as: Motoman, Panasonic, Fanuc, ABB, and others. Contact RobotWorx at 740-383-8383 for more information about flux cored arc welding, or use our robot advisor to narrow your robot search.
