Orbital welding was created over 50 years ago to help fix any user error that existed in GTAW welding. Both new and reconditioned orbital welding robots are precise, less susceptible to mistakes, and able to create these circular parts with speed and ease. Robotic orbital welding can be used for high quality, repeatable welding as it is run by a computer, and requires very little operator intercept.
In orbital welding, the arc is rotated mechanically through 360° along a static work piece, such as a tube or pipe. The automated orbital welding process is known for creating a smooth and uniform weld, as it is difficult to complete a 360 degree weld by hand.
