For years, manufacturers have turned to palletizing robots, rather than using manual palletizing options, for all their palletizing and de-palletizing needs. While these manufacturers found many advantages to robotic palletizing, one thing remained an issue – when loads shifted during transport, robotic de-palletizing became difficult.
Then vision robotics came along. With the vision option added to de-palletizing robot systems, shifting loads are not an issue any longer.
The vision feature plays a large role in de-palletizing applications. These robots can pick items individually or de-palletize by layer. Vision systems take pictures to locate products on a pallet before unloading them.
