ABB Controllers Increase Control and Reduce Integration Time

IRC5, ABB’s fifth gen­er­a­tion robot con­troller, fea­tures the motion con­trol tech­nol­o­gy True­Move and Quick­Move. This tech­nol­o­gy is essen­tial to the robot’s accu­ra­cy, speed, cycle time, abil­i­ty to be pro­grammed, and syn­chro­niza­tion with exter­nal devices. It also boasts Flex­Pen­dant with touch screen and joy­stick pro­gram­ming, flex­i­ble RAPID lan­guage, and pow­er­ful com­mu­ni­ca­tion capabilities.

IRC5P is a paint robot con­trol sys­tem specif­i­cal­ly designed for the paintshop, equipped with Flex­Paint Pen­dant. The IRC5P increas­es uptime and has an intu­itive paint user inter­face and an easy inte­gra­tion of the paint process. It is pow­ered by IPS, the high-speed process con­trol, which not only cuts cycle time but saves paint as well.

ABB’s Con­trol­Mas­ter uni­ver­sal process con­trollers make process con­trol sim­ple. The Con­trol­Mas­ter range ele­vates process mon­i­tor­ing and con­trol to a lev­el not seen before. The con­cept at the heart of Con­trol­Mas­ter is con­trol made easy. Each instru­ment pro­vides a com­pre­hen­sive dis­play of process sta­tus with a sim­ple-to-use interface. 

Robot­Ware is ABB’s con­troller soft­ware, and is cru­cial for func­tion­al­i­ty. There are option­al plug-ins avail­able depend­ing on the user’s needs, like mul­ti­task­ing, trans­fer­ring infor­ma­tion, com­mu­ni­ca­tion with exter­nal sys­tems, and per­form­ing advanced motion tasks.
