ARCITEC Arc Welding System by ABB

ABB​’s ARCITEC is a sys­tem solu­tion for arc weld­ing where the robot con­troller (S4Cplus) is high­ly inte­grat­ed with the weld pow­er source. The con­troller and pow­er source com­mu­ni­cate through a fast CAN/​Devicenet bus. The pow­er source has a built-in data­base and cal­cu­la­tion tool for weld para­me­ter values.

All pro­gram­ming is com­plet­ed through the robot teach pen­dant. ARCITEC can per­form the fol­low­ing weld­ing process­es: short arc, spray arc, and short-pulsed arc.

ARCITEC II, the lat­est gen­er­a­tion of ful­ly inte­grat­ed pow­er sources, has full syn­er­gic func­tion­al­i­ty. It is designed for the robot­ic MIG/MAG weld­ing of mate­ri­als used in met­al fab­ri­ca­tion indus­tries. Dig­i­tal com­mu­ni­ca­tion gives fast and accu­rate con­trol of the weld­ing process. 

ARCITEC II has more than 300 method/​material/​wire diameter/​shielding gas com­bi­na­tions devel­oped specif­i­cal­ly for robot­ic weld­ing. All weld­ing para­me­ters can be indi­vid­u­al­ly tuned by turn­ing off the syn­er­gic func­tion­al­i­ty for more demand­ing applications. 

The ARCITEC II sys­tem pow­er sources pro­vide supe­ri­or weld­ing prop­er­ties for dif­fer­ent mate­ri­als with min­i­mum spatter.
