Changing the job market with robots

The job mar­ket has been like a roller coast­er over the past decade, going uphill or down­hill right along with the glob­al econ­o­my. While robots changed the job mar­ket by fill­ing gaps for man­u­fac­tur­ers by pro­vid­ing sys­tems that could per­form jobs that had a short­age of work­ers, they also gave work­ers the oppor­tu­ni­ty to learn new mar­ketable skills, mak­ing indus­tri­al man­u­fac­tur­ing a more sought after pro­fes­sion again.

Robots are chang­ing the job mar­ket in anoth­er way as well. Because robot­ic automa­tion saves com­pa­nies mon­ey, they are able to keep their pro­duc­tion and oth­er ser­vices, like cus­tomer ser­vice, in their home coun­tries, with their com­pa­nies, instead of out­sourc­ing. This means that more jobs are avail­able for human work­ers in that country.

Over­all, robots are chang­ing the job mar­ket in a pos­i­tive way for human work­ers and their employ­ers and will con­tin­ue to do so for many years.
