Mobile Training Lab By Marion Technical College

Robots.com has partnered with Marion Technical College to create Mobile Training Lab. This lab is intended to provide a flexible option for manufacturers to train employees or students without taking any systems offline. This Mobile Training Lab has computers, CNC, and a Fanuc robot that can properly help prepare the workers of the future for their automation jobs.

Jodi Ben­nett, an engi­neer­ing grad­u­ate from Mar­i­on Tech­ni­cal Col­lege, designed the robot train­ing cart and took part in the offi­cial han­dover cer­e­mo­ny. Marion Technical College Mobile Training Lab

Mar­i­on Tech­ni­cal Col­lege (MTC) offers a wide range of robot­ic pro­grams and con­tin­ues to build a strong pres­ence in the mid-west, build­ing part­ner­ships with Robots​.com and RAMTEC to con­tin­ue to find ways to help teach the stu­dents of tomorrow’s workforce.

This on-going col­lab­o­ra­tion is impor­tant for the con­nec­tion of indus­tri­al robots to the upcom­ing gen­er­a­tion as seen with their new mobile lab that pro­vides flex­i­ble, on-the-go train­ing to local man­u­fac­tur­ers so a site doesn’t have to take equip­ment offline. This mobile lab is aimed to help local employ­ers improve their work­er’s skills for career advance­ment; it can reach hun­dreds of work­ers each year through­out Cen­tral Ohio.

This Mobile Train­ing Lab, which can be used as a mobile lab or on cam­pus in a class­room, is a 400-square foot sim­u­la­tion cen­ter that can accom­mo­date up to eight stu­dents, each with a lap­top and oth­er train­ing equip­ment. It includes a CNC mill, the robot from Robots​.com, 10 stu­dent com­put­er sta­tions, an instruc­tor sta­tion, pro­jec­tor, and more. 

The Fanuc LR Mate 200iC robot is posi­tioned on the new Robots​.com E5000 edu­ca­tion­al fence­less cart that has a SICK safe­ty scan­ner. This cart was built with edu­ca­tion in mind; it has col­lapsi­ble sides to help make trav­el from class­room to class­room more convenient.
