National Manufacturing Day

On the first Fri­day in Octo­ber of every year, com­pa­nies and com­mu­ni­ties across the coun­try come togeth­er to cel­e­brate mod­ern man­u­fac­tur­ing dur­ing Nation­al MFG Day. This hol­i­day was designed to inform and inspire the next gen­er­a­tion of man­u­fac­tur­ers; it pro­vides an oppor­tu­ni­ty for man­u­fac­tur­ers to open their doors and address com­mon mis­con­cep­tions. Man­u­fac­tur­ing Day helps empow­er man­u­fac­tur­ers as they come togeth­er, net­work, and ensure the ongo­ing pros­per­i­ty of the whole indus­try by tak­ing charge of the pub­lic image of manufacturing. 

Man­u­fac­tur­ing Day first start­ed in 2012 by the Found­ing Part­ner Fab­ri­ca­tors and Man­u­fac­tur­ers Asso­ci­a­tion, Inter­na­tion­al. Oth­er orga­ni­za­tions that have helped to grow this nation­al day of cel­e­bra­tion include the Nation­al Asso­ci­a­tion of Man­u­fac­tur­ers (NAM), the Man­u­fac­tur­ing Insti­tute (MI), and the Nation­al Insti­tute of Stan­dards and Tech­nol­o­gy’s (NIST) Hollings Man­u­fac­tur­ing Exten­sion Part­ner­ship (MEP). They have con­tin­ued to cre­ate events from coast to coast that inspire oth­ers to learn, invest in, and pur­sue automation.

Robots​.com has always made an effort to con­nect with the com­mu­ni­ty and share their pas­sion for robot­ic automa­tion with oth­ers, espe­cial­ly ris­ing stu­dents. To cel­e­brate Nation­al Man­u­fac­tur­ing Day this year, we will be attend­ing Made In Mar­i­on expo to cel­e­brate local man­u­fac­tur­ers with the com­mu­ni­ty. At the event we will give a small robot demon­stra­tion, inform the com­mu­ni­ty of what we do here at Robots​.com, and con­nect with oth­er man­u­fac­tur­ers in the area. This expo will be filled with var­i­ous indus­tri­al demon­stra­tions on cur­rent STEM careers and pre­views of the advanced tech­nol­o­gy avail­able in man­u­fac­tur­ing facil­i­ties today. 

At the Made In Mar­i­on Expo, vis­i­tors can see var­i­ous demon­stra­tions and vis­it infor­ma­tion booths to learn more about the area man­u­fac­tur­ing com­pa­nies. Make sure to come out and vis­it this free event on Octo­ber 22^nd from 9am-6pm at the Mar­i­on Vet­er­ans Memo­r­i­al Col­i­se­um, 220 E Fair­ground St, Mar­i­on. See you there!
