Fanuc R-30iB Controller

The Fanuc R‑30iB is a high-per­for­mance con­troller that brings a high­er lev­el of pro­duc­tiv­i­ty to the pro­duc­tion floor. It offers hard­ware and the lat­est advances in net­work com­mu­ni­ca­tions, inte­grat­ed iRVi­sion, and motion con­trol func­tions. The iPen­dant has a touch screen with 4D graph­ics that dis­plays process infor­ma­tion and the actu­al process path, allow­ing for a much eas­i­er set up. Addi­tion­al­ly, Fanuc has min­i­mized the con­troller space by 68 per­cent, sav­ing floor space for the man­u­fac­tur­er, or allow­ing the man­u­fac­tur­er to stack con­trollers for mul­ti-robot­ic installations. 

This con­troller also helps to save ener­gy as it requires less pow­er con­sump­tion with its exter­nal pow­er switch The R‑30iB also has a cool­ing fan auto-stop that reduces pow­er by switch­ing off dur­ing breaks, a brake con­trol func­tion that reduces pow­er through the auto­mat­ic brak­ing motor if the robot is idle for an elon­gat­ed peri­od of time, and a Robogu­ide pow­er opti­miza­tion func­tion that min­i­mizes pow­er and opti­mizes ener­gy sav­ings for the consumer. 

The con­troller also has an option­al ener­gy-sav­ing design that recov­ers kinet­ic ener­gy dur­ing brak­ing and returns it to the sys­tem to be reused dur­ing the next cycle. 

While the con­troller increas­es ener­gy sav­ings, and, in turn, decreas­es ener­gy costs, it also enhances the pro­duc­tiv­i­ty of any com­pa­ny through an enhanced brake release, robot motion opti­miza­tion and smart vibra­tion con­trol for the robot arm to reduce cycle times and pro­duce smoother movement.
