It is a a high per­for­mance, fast, and agile ID robot built for arc weld­ing or machine tend­ing. The IRB 1660ID’s hol­low wrist helps to pro­vide max­i­mum accel­er­a­tion and speed at all times with­out fears of dam­ag­ing the Inte­grat­ed Dress­Pack. The ABB IRB 1660ID has answered the cus­tomer’s needs for a robot that has an improved wire feed­ing con­trol to help pro­vide high vol­ume pro­duc­tion all the while con­sis­tent­ly pro­duc­ing supe­ri­or, qual­i­ty welds every time. 

The pow­er­ful wrist is com­pact, fast, and reli­able and it is paired with ABB’s Quick­Move Tech­nol­o­gy which pro­vides up to 10% short­er cycle times. In addi­tion, the arm is strong and rigid which enables up to an 6 kg lift which enables the addi­tion­al options for heav­ier torches. 

Some oth­er soft­ware fea­tures avail­able that help make the ABB IRB 1660ID a top choice are ABB’s True­Move and Accu­ra­cy mode” which help to pro­vide +/- 0.05 mm repeata­bil­i­ty. If offline pro­gram­ming is desired, then you may con­sid­er adding the Robot­Stu­dio which helps the pro­gram­mers envi­sion the high den­si­ty cells and to secure safe robot move­ments, with col­li­sion elim­i­na­tion, at all times. The online pro­gram­ming is sim­pli­fied due to the full con­trol of the hose pack­ages, the com­pact 125 mm wrist, and the 0.30 mm TCP reori­en­ta­tion accu­ra­cy. High den­si­ty cells help to reduce your costs, while also max­i­miz­ing your con­sis­tent­ly supe­ri­or output. 

All of these traits com­bine to pro­vide up to 50% low­er main­te­nance costs and a much longer life expectan­cy. The ABB IRB 1660ID, paired with the IRC5 con­troller, is tru­ly a spec­tac­u­lar robot that will pro­duce qual­i­ty performance.
