ABB's new YuMi collaborative robot is the beginning of a new era in robotics. The name itself, YuMi, stands for You and Me. YuMi is the first collaborative dual arm robot, designed to work side by side and integrated with humans. This dual arm ABB robot is ideal for small parts assembly, and is extremely safe and very accurate. With the simple human touch, the robot will stop what is is doing within milliseconds.  No fencing, no light curtains, no safety systems necessary.  That is because all of YuMi's safety devices are built into the robot. This robot is the future of robotics and comes with the advanced ABB IRC5 controller, TrueMove and QuickMove technology, I/O interfaces include Ethernet IP, Profibus, USB ports, DeviceNet, communication port, emergency stop and air-to-hands.  YuMi can work with a variety of HMI devices, includes tablets and smartphones.  Its servo grippers, or "hands", have the option of built in camera, the padding on the arm makes it soft to touch, and its 100-240 volt power supply plugs into any socket worldwide.
