Fanuc Robotics America – Going Strong for More than 30 years

There are a lot of robot­ics com­pa­nies in the world – Motoman, KUKA, ABB, Uni­ver­sal Robots, etc. – and one of the lead­ers of the robot­ics indus­try is Fanuc Robot­ics Amer­i­ca, one of many sub­sidiaries of the main Fanuc Cor­po­ra­tion in Japan.

Fanuc Robot­ics Amer­i­ca is a sup­pli­er of robots to North and South Amer­i­ca. The com­pa­ny was formed in 1982 when Fanuc Cor­po­ra­tion part­nered with Gen­er­al Motors in the Unit­ed States to form GMFanuc Robot­ics. Ten years lat­er, GM sold their shares of the com­pa­ny to Fanuc, and GMFanuc became Fanuc Robot­ics America.

Today, the Amer­i­can Fanuc Robot­ics is pro­vid­ing two con­ti­nents with a com­plete range of indus­tri­al robot­ics, includ­ing the M‑series, the R‑series, the Arc Mate series and the S- series. These robots are able to weld, han­dle mate­r­i­al and remove material.

The robots engi­neered by Fanuc Robot­ics Amer­i­ca are able to be pro­grammed to per­form dozens of dif­fer­ent appli­ca­tions for fac­to­ries in sev­er­al indus­tries. Indus­tries, includ­ing the aero­space, auto­mo­tive, con­sumer goods, foundry, glass, food and bev­er­age, elec­tron­ics and med­ical indus­tries, use robots built by Fanuc on a dai­ly basis.

And that’s not all! Not only does Fanuc Robot­ics design inno­v­a­tive indus­tri­al robots and sup­ply them to facil­i­ties across the West­ern Hemi­sphere, but they also allow pro­duc­tion stu­dios to use their robots for enter­tain­ment pur­pos­es. Fanuc Robot­ics America’s robots have danced on MTV, appeared in The Ter­mi­na­tor, and have even worked on the Walt Dis­ney World Test Track.
