National Manufacturing Day

On the first Friday in October of every year, companies and communities across the country come together to celebrate modern manufacturing during National MFG Day. This holiday was designed to inform and inspire the next generation of manufacturers; it provides an opportunity for manufacturers to open their doors and address common misconceptions.  Manufacturing Day helps empower manufacturers as they come together, network, and ensure the ongoing prosperity of the whole industry by taking charge of the public image of manufacturing.

Manufacturing Day first started in 2012 by the Founding Partner Fabricators and Manufacturers Association, International. Other organizations that have helped to grow this national day of celebration include the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), the Manufacturing Institute (MI), and the National Institute of Standards and Technology's (NIST) Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP). They have continued to create events from coast to coast that inspire others to learn, invest in, and pursue automation.

RobotWorx has always made an effort to connect with the community and share their passion for robotic automation with others, especially rising students.  To celebrate National Manufacturing Day this year, we will be attending Made In Marion expo to celebrate local manufacturers with the community. At the event we will give a small robot demonstration, inform the community of what we do here at RobotWorx, and connect with other manufacturers in the area. This expo will be filled with various industrial demonstrations on current STEM careers and previews of the advanced technology available in manufacturing facilities today.

At the Made In Marion Expo, visitors can see various demonstrations and visit information booths to learn more about the area manufacturing companies. Make sure to come out and visit this free event on October 22nd from 9am-6pm at the Marion Veterans Memorial Coliseum, 220 E Fairground St, Marion. See you there!
