KUKA KR 5-2 Arc HW

The KR 5 – 2 Arc HW (Hol­low Wrist) is a new type of robot that is con­sid­ered to be the arc weld­ing spe­cial­ist. It’s attrib­ut­es tru­ly put it in a class of its own. For instance, it has a 50 mm open­ing in the arm and wrist to enable the inter­nal rout­ing of the arc weld­ing dress pack­age. This is a huge advan­tage as it helps to pro­tect the dress pack­age from mechan­i­cal influ­ences and whiplash. There are a vari­ety of dress pack­age options avail­able such as tor­sion-type and infi­nite­ly rotating. 

The KR 5 – 2 can han­dle up to 5 kg in pay­load and a reach up to 1423 mm. Addi­tion­al­ly, the KR 5 – 2 Arc HW design pro­vides more acces­si­ble com­po­nents and a sim­pli­fied offline pro­gram­ming plat­form. This robot will be paired with the KR C4 controller.
