The six-axis ES200RD II is a high-speed, shelf-mounted robot that is designed for optimal performance for heavy loads (up to 200 kg) and machine/press tendingapplications.  Any inconsistency that may be caused by the manual operation of processes such as turning, milling, or grinding, will be avoided when using the ES200RD II to automate. In addition, the shelf mounting feature and compact, slim design both help to save valuable floor space, while also expanding the work envelopewhich gives better access to parts. The cable and air lines will have a longer life as they are routed through the robot base to the upper arm.  This design, and the Functional Safety Unit integrated into the DX200 controller, are key safety features. 

Versatility was an important characteristic to the designers, this is reflected in the ES200RD II as it can be used for loading and unloading of parts, can help with "jigless" applications, and can handle multiple types of materials such as ceramics, composites, metals, and polymers. Also, the ES200RD II has excellent acceleration and fast axial speeds that will increase the overall throughput. Amazingly enough, these high speeds take up 70% less power consumption during motion, and 25% during idle periods compared to previous models.
