The Fanuc R2000iA/165R: Tackling Applications from Above

The Fanuc R2000iA/​165R is a six-axis, high-per­for­mance, rack-mount robot ide­al for shelf instal­la­tions. It works from an ele­vat­ed posi­tion to enable it to reach a low­er lev­el. It is suit­able for a wide range of appli­ca­tions such as spot weld­ing, gen­er­al assem­bly, pal­letiz­ing, load­ing and unload­ing of parts, mate­r­i­al han­dling, and pick and place.

The R‑2000iA/165R’s out­stand­ing mechan­i­cal fea­tures offer a gen­er­ous pay­load capac­i­ty at 165kg and an extend­ed reach at 3095mm. This large work enve­lope comes with a slim wrist design; these com­bine to give the robot the abil­i­ty to reach over­head and behind, while also allow­ing oper­a­tion in tight spaces and min­i­miz­ing inter­fer­ence with sys­tem periph­er­als. This expan­sive reach and elim­i­na­tion of a coun­ter­weight increase avail­able work space. In addi­tion, all axes have reduc­ers and the appli­ca­tion cables are passed through the arms and there are no motors in its arms.

Inte­gra­tion is also made eas­i­er with sev­er­al process attach­ment points. A sta­tion­ary out­er arm sim­pli­fies hose and cable dress out, which ulti­mate­ly pro­longs ser­vice life, results in longer main­te­nance inter­vals, and low­er oper­at­ing costs.

This robot comes paired with the intel­li­gent robot con­trol sys­tem, RJ3iB, which has a B size cab­i­net, quick boot-up, and fast-to-change ampli­fi­er. The RJ3iB con­troller sim­ple to con­nect with dif­fer­ent I/O and has a cus­tom and easy user-inter­face design.
