The UR3 robot is the most flex­i­ble, space-sav­ing, and light­weight table-top robot in the col­lab­o­ra­tive series. It is a small com­pact robot, weigh­ing in at 11 kg and is able to con­quer a pay­load up to 3 kg. It has a 500 mm reach, 0.1 mm repeata­bil­i­ty, and 360 degree rota­tion on all wrist joints includ­ing infi­nite rota­tion on the end joint. The UR3 is super easy to re-deploy with­out chang­ing the lay­out of your pro­duc­tion line. This pro­vides you with the agili­ty to auto­mate pret­ty much any man­u­al task, mak­ing it the per­fect solu­tion for appli­ca­tions that require 6‑axis capa­bil­i­ties where size, safe­ty, and costs are critical. 

The com­pact size and easy set-up and pro­gram­ming of the UR3 make it easy to switch between tasks to meet a vari­ety of man­u­fac­tur­ing needs. Cus­tomers have report­ed an aver­age set-up time of half a day and the mount­ing and pro­gram­ming can take less than an hour.

For safe­ty pur­pos­es, there is a default force sens­ing of 150 New­ton which can also be set to stop if it encoun­ters a force as low as 50 New­ton in its route. Thou­sands of UR robots are cur­rent­ly deployed that have zero safe­ty guard­ing and work direct­ly next to humans. This safe­ty sys­tem is approved by TUV (The Ger­man Tech­ni­cal Inspec­tion Association).

The UR3 is tru­ly per­fect robot to work side-by-side with employ­ees for light assem­bly tasks and auto­mat­ed work­bench sce­nar­ios. This makes it the finest assis­tant for jobs in assem­bly, pol­ish, glue, and screw appli­ca­tions requir­ing uni­form prod­uct qual­i­ty. The UR3 is being used in a wide range of appli­ca­tions from med­ical devices to cir­cuit board and elec­tron­ic com­po­nents. It can also be used in a sep­a­rate work sta­tion mount­ed on the table for pick­ing, assem­bling, and plac­ing parts in opti­mized pro­duc­tion flows.
