ABB IRB 6640

The ABB IRB 6640 is ABB’s newest robot for heavy lift­ing needs. It was built to replace its fore­run­ner, the IRB 6600 robot and was also cre­at­ed to be sim­ple to move and main­tain. The robot foot is slight­ly larg­er and fork­lift pock­ets allows for easy relo­ca­tion. The robot is 400 kg low­er than the IRB 6600 model.

With six axes of motion, a pro­tec­tion rat­ing of IP67, and a max­i­mum pay­load of 235 kg, it is ready to tack­le the tough chal­lenges. Its strong design is ide­al for mate­r­i­al han­dling, machine tend­ing, or spot weld­ing applications. 

The stan­dard IRB 6640 ver­sion has a 2.55 m hor­i­zon­tal reach. It is a floor mount mod­el with the abil­i­ty to bend behind itself for extra acces­si­bil­i­ty. The ABB 6640 can use the IRC5 or the S4C controller.
