Which FANUC robot is ideal for high speed product picking?

FANUC M-1iAFANUC Robotics offers a number of robots capable of high speed product picking applications. However, three specific models stand out: the M-1iA, M-3iA, and M-430iA/2F.

The M-1iA and M-3iA are parallel-link Delta robots. Often referred to as Genkotsu or spider robots, these FANUC models are lightweight, extremely accurate, and quick moving. They are well-suited for any high
speed pick and place, order picking, packaging, kitting, or assembly application.

  • The M-1iA mini robot weighs just 17kg with a payload capacity of 0.5kg. At top speed, its wrist is capable of rotating 3,000 degrees per second. This spider robot has a repeatability rating of 0.02mm.

  • The M-3iA provides a 6kg payload and 2,000 degrees/second wrist rotation speed. A four-axis variation, the M-3iA/6S, moves even faster - reaching 4,000 degrees/second. Repeatability is 0.1mm. The M-3iA is also available in a food-safe version. The M-3iA Food Robot is built with food-grade grease and a white epoxy finish.M-430iA/2F

The M-430iA/2F is another robot that makes for an excellent high speed picking solution. This versatile model has five axes of movement and can be installed from a variety of locations: floor, ceiling, and wall.

Quick and accurate, the M-430iA/2F can complete 120 cycles per min with a 1kg payload and 100 cycles per minute at full payload capacity (2kg). Repeatability is 0.5mm. The M-430iA/2F is USDA approved for food handling applications.
